Europe is growing together more and more – so does the payment transaction system.
Per European Law (EU regulation §260/2012), effective 1 Feb 2014, a Europe wide consistent payment system, the “Single Euro Payments Area” (SEPA) will be used. Goal of this SEPA is to implement standards for credit transfers, direct debits and card payments in the Euro currency. For a total of 32 European countries, the payment transaction system will get harmonized. Current national credit transfers and “Direct Debit Authorizations” will be replaced by “SEPA Credit Transfers” and by “SEPA Direct Debits”.
