How does the German Red Cross home emergency call service work?
The German Red Cross home emergency call system consists of a radio transmitter and the home emergency call unit, which is usually installed by our home emergency call staff via your landline connection. Alternatively, we offer home emergency call units that can be used either independently of a landline connection or via the digital telephone network.
The German Red Cross home emergency call system is so easy to use that you simply cannot go wrong, even in critical situations:
- You find yourself in an emergency where you cannot help yourself.
- You trigger the emergency call with just one press of a button on your small radio transmitter. The radio transmitter is waterproof and should always be worn whilst at home (including in the bath or shower).
- The DRK home emergency call centre will respond via the loudspeaker on the home emergency call device, discuss your emergency with you and arrange for appropriate assistance.
- When you make an emergency call, the member of staff at the home emergency call centre immediately sees all the details you have previously provided on their screen. These include not only your emergency contacts but also information about your state of health and any important medication.
- Depending on the situation, they will contact your relatives, neighbours, the DRK home emergency call on-call service, your GP or the ambulance service directly.
- To ensure that no valuable time is lost in an emergency, house and flat keys can be safely stored with the DRK.
How much of a discount will I receive?
When taking out a DRK home emergency call contract, SWKcard holders save on the connection fee and receive a monthly discount of 2 euros on the Home Emergency Call Comfort Package.
How do I get the discount?
Simply present a valid SWKcard during your consultation or when signing the contract.
