An overview of the funding scheme

The Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) is funding the expansion of charging infrastructure in multi-occupancy buildings. Support is provided for the purchase and installation of charging points that are not accessible to the public. Charging facilities should be available where people live. SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern is the local energy partner responsible for implementation.

What is funded, and to what extent?

Up to €1,300 per pitch

Pre-cabling

Technical equipment, mains connection and necessary building works – excluding the wallbox.

Up to €1,500 per parking space

Wallbox (AC)

In addition to the pre-wiring, a wallbox with a maximum charging power of 22 kW.

Up to €2,000 per parking space

Bidirectional wallbox

Wallbox with bidirectional charging capability.

Who is eligible for the grant?

Applications must be submitted digitally via the funding portal of the project organiser, PwC.

Key eligibility criteria for funding:

At least 6 parking spaces, or 20 per cent of the available parking spaces, must be pre-wired (in short: 20 per cent – but never fewer than 6 parking spaces)

100 per cent of electricity generated from renewable energy sources

Start of construction following approval of the grant application

A cost estimate is a prerequisite for submitting an application

The 24-month implementation period begins with the notification

Within 9 months of the start of this period, the WEG must have formally commissioned the work
