SWK staff voted to decide for themselves where the money should go. This decision is a sign of SWK’s team spirit and social responsibility. “We want to give something back and help where it is really needed. ‘Donations instead of gifts’ exemplifies our long-term commitment to the region. The fact that our staff actively decided on the donation target makes this initiative particularly valuable. That is why we have generously rounded up the amount to a total of €10,000,” says Dr Arvid Blume, Managing Director of SKW Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern.
The four organisations receiving support:
The Kaiserslautern Children’s Hospice has received a donation of €3,500 | The Hospice Association for the City and District of Kaiserslautern e.V. offers support and care in their own homes to families with children, teenagers or young adults suffering from life-limiting illnesses through its outpatient children’s and youth hospice service ‘Rückenwind’.
SWK is supporting the work of the Kaiserslautern Animal Shelter with a donation of €2,500 | The Kaiserslautern Animal Shelter cares for dogs, cats and small animals that are looking for a new home or need help.
A total of €2,000 has been raised for the Kaiserslautern Women’s Shelter | The Kaiserslautern Women’s Shelter offers refuge and support in a safe environment to women and their children who have been affected by physical, emotional or sexual violence.
The work of Caritas’ Glockenstubb is also being recognised with a donation of €2,000 | The Glockenstubb is a meeting place for people facing difficult circumstances. There, they not only receive a meal for a symbolic fee of one euro, but also find a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
