Experiencing science in the region first-hand – that is what Kammgarn + SWK X Science aims to achieve. The new series of events kicks off on 13 March 2025. With the support of SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern, Kammgarn Kaiserslautern will be presenting fascinating live experiments, unusual talks and new, entertaining formats. The aim is to present science to people across the region, from young to old, in an exciting and interactive way – and preferably with a touch of humour.
Science Year 2025 focuses on the energy of the future
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), together with partners from the worlds of science, education and culture, has been organising the Science Years since 2000. The initiative aims to promote dialogue between the research community and the public. The theme for 2025 is: “Energy for the future – what will our energy supply of tomorrow look like?”
In line with this, Kammgarn Kaiserslautern, with SWK as its main sponsor, is expanding its science-related communications.
The aim of the new series, Kammgarn + SWK X Science, is to present scientific and natural science topics in an entertaining and accessible way. There have already been successful events in the past – for example, featuring Konrad Stöckel and Dr Mark Benecke. These have shown that there is considerable interest and demand in this area.
Five different events – spread throughout the year
The series kicks off on 13 March 2025 with the ‘Best of Show’ from the Physikanten, who will amaze the audience with their astonishing experiments. There are five events in total, including the Children’s Experiment Show with Professor Bummbastic. Fans of technology and science fiction can look forward to a talk by Dr Hubert Zitt: ‘Star Trek: How technical visions become reality’. The programme also features a science slam and a science cabaret with Vince Ebert.
