In doing so, we support, amongst other things, various events, sports and other clubs, the Kaiserslautern Garden Show, the Japanese Garden, the Kammgarn Cultural Centre, nurseries and schools, as well as many other institutions and organisations that are our energy customers.
Guidelines on Donations and Sponsorship Activities of SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern GmbH
Preamble
SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern GmbH and its subsidiaries, SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern Versorgungs-AG, SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern Verkehrs-AG, Demando GmbH, EUS GmbH, WVE GmbH, WNS GmbH and K-net GmbH
assume responsibility for the city and the region. In addition to economic development, social and cultural cohesion is also to be actively promoted. Donations and sponsorship activities are important means of support in this regard and serve to further the company’s own communication and marketing objectives.
Donations and sponsorship activities are
based on compliance with the guidelines and the prevention of corruption in business dealings.
Scope
This policy is binding on SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern GmbH and its subsidiaries, SWK
Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern Versorgungs-AG, SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern Verkehrs-AG, EUS GmbH, Demando GmbH, WVE GmbH, WNS GmbH and K-net GmbH, and comes into force on 1 August 2017.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship is defined as the provision of money or benefits in kind by companies to support individuals, groups and/or organisations in sporting, cultural, religious, scientific, social or socio-political fields.
In sponsorship, money, material resources, expertise or other organisational services are provided by the sponsor with the aim of receiving a communicative consideration in return. The sponsor’s ultimate aim is to achieve an economic benefit, e.g. by increasing corporate or brand awareness or improving the company’s image.
The sponsor receives consideration from the sponsored party. Such consideration may, for example, take the form of advertising obligations on the part of the sponsored party.
Sponsorship
activities are generally set out in writing in a contract between the sponsor and the sponsored party. The contract specifies the respective obligations of the sponsorship partner and the sponsor, the sector exclusivity and the duration of the agreement.
Donations
Donations are voluntary and gratuitous contributions of money or goods made for a religious, scientific, charitable or economic purpose. There is no exchange of services between the donor and the recipient of the donation.
Who is eligible for funding?
Donations or sponsorship funds are awarded to individuals, groups or organisations that are active in sporting, cultural, religious, scientific, social or socio-political fields within the city and the region. Each request for support must be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
The following are excluded from funding:
- Political parties or party-affiliated organisations, trade unions, and elected or appointed officials
- Groups, projects or institutions that contravene public decency or have an extreme political or xenophobic background
- Sports and activities that glorify violence
- Religious groups, church congregations or institutions (exception: social or charitable projects)
- Support for organisations with a commercial background
- Individuals, groups or associations that collaborate with other energy suppliers or competitors
