2nd Lauter Energy Forum

Smart Buildings - The Intelligent House

Under the heading "Smart Building– The Intelligent House", sustainable building and the domestic culture of tomorrow were the focal points on February 4, 2010, because buildings consume 40 % of the total energy used in Europe. Equally high are also the emissions of carbon dioxide and other exhausts. In order to reduce the greenhouse effect and to counteract the looming threat of climate change, energy consumption must be reduced - everywhere, even in buildings.

Architect Michael Frielinghaus, President of the Association of German Architects, introduced his visions for the future of construction in a stimulating talk. The title of his presentation was: "Urban Rethinking. Architecture for the City of Tomorrow

The presentation was followed by a lively discussion with experts from politics, industry and science.
