The city of Kaiserslautern celebrated its 725th anniversary as a city in 2001.
To mark the event, TWK, Gasanstalt, Stadtsparkasse, and BAU AG – four companies with close ties to the city – each established their own charitable foundations. Today, the foundations started by TWK and Gasanstalt are united under the umbrella of the SWK.
