Whether it’s a building site or an event: the temporary mains connection is planned to suit the location and provided for the agreed period of use. Please note that the application may only be submitted by a qualified electrician.
Hire an electrician
A qualified electrician appointed by you will plan and install the customer’s system for your temporary grid connection. The application must be submitted exclusively by an installation company that is registered with us or another distribution system operator.
Register your connection
Your qualified electrician will complete the registration via our installer portal. During this process, all the necessary details regarding the required connection, the installation site and the period of use will be recorded.
Check and establish the connection
Once we have reviewed your application, we will coordinate the technical implementation and the date for the connection to be installed with your qualified electrician. Please allow for a processing time of around two weeks.
Remove the connection
If the connection is no longer required, your qualified electrician will notify us of the cancellation via our installer portal. We will then coordinate the removal of the connection with your qualified electrician. A temporary grid connection is generally limited to a maximum of one year.

FAQ – Answers to the most frequently asked questions
The application for a temporary grid connection must be submitted by a registered installation company. The qualified electrician plans the customer’s installation, provides the necessary technical specifications and confirms that the installation will be carried out in accordance with the applicable technical regulations.
The site power distribution board or connection cabinet is to be provided by the customer, the appointed qualified electrician or the construction company. SWK will establish the grid connection at the agreed grid connection point.
The application should be submitted as early as possible before the desired connection date. It usually takes around two weeks from the time the application is submitted to the connection being carried out. If any information is missing or there are specific technical requirements, the connection may be delayed.
Additional work may be required if the requested connection cannot be established without further technical measures. These may include, for example, the installation of a connection column or civil engineering work for cable routes. SWK will assess whether such measures are necessary upon receipt of the application. The implementation and any associated costs will then be agreed with the customer or the appointed qualified electrician.
Yes. The procedure applies to both site power connections and event power connections. However, different technical requirements may apply depending on the connection point, power rating and intended use.
