I’m sure you’ve been there
You need to head into town to quickly pick up a parcel from the post office. But then suddenly there’s a roadworks site and you’re stuck in a traffic jam. It costs you time and frays your nerves.
We’ll save you the hassle! You can find details of all our roadworks, as well as many other public roadworks, on the new roadworks portal, in partnership with the City of Kaiserslautern.

SWK’s construction site plan
We are securing your energy supply now and for the future. Unfortunately, this means that construction work is unavoidable. We are keeping disruption to a minimum wherever possible.
All our construction work is carefully planned in advance, and the necessary traffic management plans are discussed and agreed with the relevant authorities and, where necessary, with the police. Decisions regarding traffic disruption, diversions or full road closures are never taken lightly. Full road closures are unavoidable in the following cases:
- When work requires moving into the centre of the carriageway
- When manoeuvring of equipment, such as mobile cranes, or construction site vehicles causes obstructions on the road
- Where statutory work guidelines require it. These stipulate safety distances between the construction site and moving traffic for the protection of workers, which must be strictly observed. As a result, full road closures are mandatory even on roads that are considered to be wide
In principle, a full road closure helps to significantly increase the rate of progress, meaning the project can be completed sooner overall.
