Billing calorific values
Pursuant to Section 40(1), first sentence, No. 7 of the GasNZV, the network operator is obliged to publish the billing calorific value for the previous month at all entry and exit points in the distribution network on the 10th working day of the month. The information must be published in a standard format.
The billing calorific value is the average calorific value to be used as the basis for billing for a billing period.
It indicates how much energy is contained in the natural gas based on its chemical composition. The calorific value of the natural gas supplied to the distribution network is measured continuously, with the weighted average for the relevant billing period being included in the thermal gas bill.
Information on calculating thermal energy and on the DVGW worksheet G685 can be found here.
The billing period begins on the 1st of the month (e.g. 1 January)
The billing period does not start on the 1st of the month (e.g. 2 January)
