Markus Vollmer began his career back in 1994 at what was then known as Technische Werke Kaiserslautern. There, it did not take him long to rise to the top of the company. Under his leadership, he successfully merged the company to form SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern. Since then, the municipal utility has grown steadily.
Today, the regional energy supplier is a strong energy partner for the Palatinate.
With total assets of around 500 million euros, the Stadtwerke Group enjoys a reliable and secure position in the market.
Beate Kimmel, Lord Mayor of Kaiserslautern and Chair of the Supervisory Board, has accompanied Markus Vollmer on a long journey: “Markus Vollmer and SWK were inseparable and were regarded as a reliable constant in the municipal utilities sector. Over the years, he has steered our municipal utility company safely and successfully. His deep attachment to his hometown of Kaiserslautern has always shaped his actions. Our city has benefited from his commitment to SWK. Under his leadership, numerous partnerships and collaborations have been established in the region. All of this is directly linked to Markus Vollmer as a person. His talent for building trust, his enormous dedication and his reliability form the foundation of successful networks. SWK will continue to benefit from these networks in the future. On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I would like to express my gratitude for the last 30 energetic years. Today, Markus Vollmer is handing over a healthy company, well-positioned for the future, into new hands. We are confident that Dr Arvid Blume will successfully continue to lead SWK on its path. We wish Markus Vollmer all the very best for this new chapter in his life.”
