For more than ten years, the municipal utility company has been undergoing regular certification. These audits always focus on the safe and reliable supply of gas, water, electricity and district heating. Energy suppliers must comply with extensive requirements set out in laws, regulations and technical standards. SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern has these thoroughly scrutinised on a regular basis by independent associations. This is done in a very practical manner, which is why many teams have to be involved in the process right through to successful certification. Bernd Bohn, Head of Technology at SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern, sees this as a clear advantage: “Of course, we must ensure that we safeguard essential public services 24/7. But we also want to continuously develop and optimise our day-to-day work. The TSM certification helps us immensely in this regard. After all, we are getting better year on year; we identified any weaknesses long ago and have been working on improvements.”
The last successful TSM certification was in 2018. Since then, no non-conformities have been identified and only a few areas for improvement have been noted. To mark this success, the associations (DVGW, VDE and AGFW)* presented the official TSM certificates once again in June 2024.
“Operating and maintaining such a management system is an ongoing joint effort within the company. Our quality management team organises all the necessary tasks. However, without the active support of the respective teams, we would not be so successful,” says Dr Arvid Blume, Managing Director of SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern, with conviction.
