The purchase of the wind turbine marks the start of SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern’s efforts to make the regional energy transition a tangible reality for the people of the Palatinate. For one thing is certain: renewable energy must and will continue to grow. As the Palatinate’s energy partner, Stadtwerke will therefore continue to develop its commitment to renewable energy in the region in a targeted manner.
“The purchase of the wind turbine is a good start. But there is still a lot of work ahead of us. Our responsibility is to shape a regional energy transition that is close to the people. In doing so, we aim to win people over with a concept tailored to the region. Our great advantage is that we combine all elements of the energy transition. We provide everything from a single source. That is why we clearly stand out from many competitors – because many can offer individual elements,” explains Dr Arvid Blume, Managing Director of SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern. His colleague Markus Vollmer adds: “We have been partners with a great many municipal and local utility companies for many years now. We actively support them
in their public service obligations. As a municipal and regional utility, SWK has the potential to implement the energy transition holistically at a local level, working with local authorities, energy suppliers, the business community and the public, in a way that is community-focused and regionally oriented.”
