Regional, renewable and future-proof
With SWK Ökostrom Regio, you receive electricity from regional photovoltaic systems. The product has been awarded the certified ‘Grüner Strom’ label (validated in accordance with the criteria set out by Strom Label e.V.).
The electricity comes from the regional Sötern II PV plant, which was built jointly by WVE GmbH Kaiserslautern and IBC GmbH Bad Staffelstein.

Grüner Strom Label e.V. certifies energy products with its recognised quality mark. The aim is for energy supply to be community-based, focused on the common good, fair and free from pollutants.
The Grüner Strom Label is backed by leading environmental organisations, such as NABU, BUND, the German Nature Conservation Ring, IPPNW, Die Verbraucher Initiative e.V. and Eurosolar.

Erläuterung zur Stromlieferung
Es ist physikalisch leider unmöglich, gezielt die „grünen Elektronen“ der Anlage Sötern II genau in Ihre Streckdose zu leiten, da das Stromnetz funktioniert wie ein großer See. In diesen speisen alle Stromerzeuger Strom ein und alle Verbraucher ziehen ihren Strom dort heraus. Die Stromarten mischen sich unweigerlich.
Allerdings wird die Menge an Strom, die Sie beziehen, von der PV-Anlage im Saarland ins Netz eingespeist. Mit Ihrem Ökostrom-Tarif verändern Sie also den Inhalt des gesamten Stromsees, indem regenerativer Strom aus Nohfelden-Sötern hinein fließt anstatt Graustrom aus Kohle oder Gas.

FAQ – Answers to the most frequently asked questions
The contract shall commence on the specified start date for supply (as set out in SWK’s order confirmation in accordance with clause 2.1 of the General Terms and Conditions) and shall end on 31 December of the same year (initial term). The contract shall be extended for an indefinite period unless it is terminated with one month’s notice before the end of the initial term.
