This is where a battery storage system comes in. It stores the surplus electricity until it’s needed – for example, early in the morning or after work. This allows you to use the energy you generate on your roof much more effectively and save money.

Mains switch available as an option

With your own photovoltaic system, you essentially have an off-grid source of electricity. However, in the event of a power cut, even grid-connected inverters will switch off.

The grid switch ensures you still have a power supply despite a power cut. It can be added as an optional extra to the SWK Solar package. With it, you can create an emergency power supply from your battery storage system – without the need for complex modifications to your home’s electrical system.

In the event of a power cut, simply operate the mains switch and you can continue to supply the whole house with electricity. The wallbox and heat pump are excluded from this. Power to these is only guaranteed for as long as there is energy stored in the battery or electricity is being generated by the solar panel system.
